Boeing cleared to resume wide-body deliveries to China

After a hiatus of several weeks, China’s industry regulator is allowing airline customers of Boeing’s wide-bodies to accept the aircraft types, Reuters reports. Read More » Deliveries of ordered 777s and 787s planes will recommence in coming days and Mainland customers of 737 MAXs also are expected to be accepting their narrow-bodies as early as July, Reuters said. Boeing jet deliveries to China clients were halted in May after the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) initiated inspections of batteries in the 25-hour cockpit voice recorders installed on the OEM’s jets. In a year-end 2023 filing, Boeing reported 140 737 MAX 8s in inventory, including 85 of the type designated for China. Boeing delivered 22 aircraft to Mainland customers from January to April this year.
