The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), and the China National Railway Group (CNR) signed an agreement on June 25 to promote air-rail intermodal transport. Read More » The strategy has seven goals: top-level planning, improving air-rail intermodal transport infrastructure, product innovation, service optimization, information expansion, demonstration project promotions, cooperate to deliver “buy one ticket, travel with one pass” and provide passengers with convenient and comfortable air-rail intermodal transport services. In the last two years, 24 China airports and railway stations have achieved direct connection of facilities in “hard connectivity”. In “soft connectivity,” Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Spring Airlines have been the leaders in connecting with the railway ticketing information system, linking the airline app and railway ticket app so passengers can buy air-rail tickets on both of them.
