EVA Airways will spend around TW$3 billion (US$ 92 million) to acquire more shares in Evergreen Airline Services Corp., Evergreen Sky Catering Corp. and Evergreen Air Cargo Services Corp. Read More » The airline holds 56.33% of Evergreen Airline Services, 49.8% of Evergreen Sky Catering and 60.62% of Evergreen Air Cargo Services. “Increasing equity in the three companies will develop long-term operating strategies and leverage operational synergies to enhance the group's competitive advantage,” EVA Airways executive vice president, Chen Yao-min, said earlier this week. Established in 1990, Evergreen Airline Services provides ground handling to more than 20 airlines, including EVA Air, Singapore Airlines and All Nippon Airways at Taipei Taoyuan, Taipei Songshan, Kaohsiung and Taichung airports. Based in Taipei Taoyuan Airport Park, Evergreen Sky Catering outputs up to 70,000 inflight meals a day for 27 airlines. Evergreen Air Cargo Services has partnerships with 38 airlines and annual cargo handling capacity of 820,000 tons.
