Korean Air (KAL) will expand its cargo sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) program in partnership with global logistics company CEVA Logistics. CEVA Logistics will support the airline’s usage of SAF in its air cargo operations, and the airline will share carbon emissions reductions with CEVA Logistics.
Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) has become the first transportation operator in the country to pass a formal organizational review by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). CAL also has been recognized for meeting the science-based pathway aligned with the Paris Agreement under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which aims to limit global warming to 1.5C.
Hiroyuki Koguchi, senior vice president in charge of commercial aviation at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries said on June27 that despite the government's commitment to made-in-Japan aircraft, it is not the time to decide to re-enter the commercial airplane market after the failure of the SpaceJet.
Cathay Pacific Airways will resume seasonal flying to Far North Queensland from December 17 to March 29 next year. The three times a week rotation to Cairns, the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, will be flown by two-class A330s.
China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) has agreed a sale and purchase contract for an A330-200.
Vietnamese carrier, Pacific Airlines, resumed commercial operations on June 26 with an aircraft provided by Vietnam Airlines. Air services offered by Pacific Airlines will be available on six routes: Hanoi, Da Nang, Hue, Chu Lai, Thanh Hoa, and Vinh. Pacific Airlines temporarily ceased operations on March 16, and returned all of its leased A320s to lessors to wipe off US$220 million of its debt.
Air Mauritius has become the latest direct airline partner of AirAsia Move, the OTA formerly known as the AirAsia SuperApp.
