Jetstar and Qantas Airways head to Vanuatu

Qantas Airways and Qantas Group LCC, Jetstar, will add Vanuatu in the South Pacific to their networks later this year with the two carriers to operate a combined nine flights a week between Australia and Port Vila. Read More » Full-service Qantas will fly three times a week from Brisbane with 737-800s from September 10 and Jetstar will commence up to four flights weekly with A321neoLRs on December 12, also from Brisbane. The increased frequency will return capacity to a market disrupted by the recent liquidation of Air Vanuatu. Virgin Australia (VA) also has Australia-Port Vila in its network in response to passenger demand. “We have long served Vanuatu with our codeshare partnership and this new route ensures our customers have more choice and consistent service to the island destination we know they enjoy,” Qantas International CEO, Cam Wallace, said. Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully, said: “Ahead of the arrival of our 13th A321neo LR next month and more new aircraft on the way, we are continuing to grow our international network.”
