AirAsia to concentrate on regional airports to expand Japan network

AirAsia will focus its Japanese market route development to second tier cities. Read More » “It is challenging to fill secondary destinations like Nagoya and Hiroshima with large aircraft, but it is feasible with narrow-body long-haul aircraft. Our plan is to reach all cities in Japan and connect them with Bangkok, Bali, Phuket and Indonesia. There is a lot we can do. Suppose the world’s airlines focus on major cities like Tokyo and Osaka. In that case, we want to provide opportunities of direct flights for those who can’t currently fly from these major airports, Capital A CEO, Tony Fernandes, told Japanese aviation and tourism news platform, TRAICY, on the sidelines of the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2024 earlier this week.
