Boeing pleads guilty to breaching agreement related to fatal 737 MAX crashes

On July 8, Boeing said it had agreed to plead guilty to a U.S. Justice Department charge it violated the terms of a previous settlement concerning to two fatal crashes of 737 MAX 8s. If approved, Boeing faces a maximum fine of US$487.2 million, must apply stricter compliance and oversight of its safety programs for three years and accept the scrutiny of its production programs by an independent corporate monitor.
