South Korea and the Philippines expand air services agreement

South Korea and the Philippines have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to increase seats between the two countries. Read More » The expanded agreement permits airlines to offer 30,000 seats a week between the capital cities of the Philippines and South Korea. Previously, airlines were restricted to 20,000 seats weekly between all airports in South Korea and Manila. The South Korea Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) said the liberalised traffic rights allow airlines to add frequency to Manila from other South Korean cities besides Seoul. The Philippines Department of Transportation forecasts the additional bilateral traffic rights will speed recovery of travel and tourism in both countries.
In other South Korea news, the MOLIT has cleared an updated air services agreement with Georgia that permits seven South Korea-Georgia flights a week for passenger and cargo services and third party code-sharing between the two countries.
