Fiji Airways applies for Fiji-Dallas Fort Worth air traffic rights

Fiji Airways has written to the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) seeking permission to commence a nonstop three times a week service between its home hub and Dallas-Fort Worth in Texas. Read More » The application said the South Pacific flag carrier will operate the route with 334-seat A350-900s if it receives approval for the schedule from U.S. regulators. Fiji Airways’ DoT application said the route will open more options to travel to Fiji from a major market in a geographic region with convenient connections to middle and eastern U.S. At present, Fiji Airways flies nonstop from Nadi to Honolulu, Los Angeles and San Francisco in the U.S. and to Canada’s Vancouver. Dallas-Fort Worth is the home hub of American Airlines, a member of the oneworld alliance. Last month, Fiji Airways announced it had applied to be a full member of the alliance and would adopt the American Airlines Advantage frequent flyer program.
