Boeing commences 777-9X flight testing

Read More » The company confirmed the flight tests were taking place, with the oversight of FAA representatives on board, in a social media post. Air Current broke the story saying the FAA had granted the 777-9X program TIA. “The 777-9 has begun certification flight testing at Boeing Field in Seattle, an important step as we work under the oversight of our regulator to have the airplane certified and to start deliveries to customers around the world,” Boeing said on Friday (U.S. time). The 777-X program has two aircraft types, the 777-8X and 777-9X. They were unveiled in 2013 and originally were scheduled to be in service in 2020. A 777-8FX freighter variant was added to the product line up in 2022.
