Singapore Airlines records robust passenger demand in June

Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Scoot flew a combined 3.2 million passengers in June up 9.7% from the 2.9 million air travellers the two airlines transported in the same month in 2023. Read More » Passenger capacity was higher by 11% for the reported period, SIA said in its monthly traffic report. Average passenger load factor for the 30 days was 87.4%, a decline of 3.2 percentage points from a year earlier. “Air travel demand remained robust across all route regions in June 2024, supported by the mid-year school holidays in Singapore and the summer travel season,” SIA said. Cargo loads rose 24.9%, to 508.1 million tonne kilometres for the month against a year ago. SIA said the lift in cargo loads was supported by “robust e-commerce demand, some demand spill over from disruptions to sea freight and port congestion”.
