Australia’s Qantas Group has joined with mining companies, BHP and Rio Tinto, as investors in the Silva Carbon Origination Fund, which manages Australian carbon credit units. “For hard to abate sectors such as aviation, high-integrity carbon offsets will play an important role in achieving climate targets,” Qantas chief sustainability officer, Andrew Parker, said.
IndiGo has launched a “NextGen” electronic flight bag program for its ATR fleet. IndiGo pilots flying the type will receive an Apple iPad with pre-loaded documents, charts and an on board performance tool for precise aircraft monitoring. The airline introduced the electronic flight bag program for turboprop pilots in 2020. “This program enhances operational efficiency and empowers our ATR pilots with the latest tools and resource,” IndiGo senior vice president of flight operations, Captain Ashim Mittra, said.
