STARLUX Airlines books record revenue in July, doubles down on cargo business

STARLUX Airlines said revenue hit a new high of TWD3.467 billion (US$108 million) in July, a monthly improvement of 12.66% and an annual surge of 52.98%. Read More » Cumulative revenue in the 2024 first half was approximately TWD198 billion year-on-year, a 62.99% increase. The Taiwan-based carrier said it will continue to expand with its planned launches of Taipei-Seattle on August 16, Taipei-Jakarta on September 1 and Taichung-Phu Quoc on October 27. STARLUX is expecting to accept four A350-900S by December and three A350-1000s next year. Its 2024 targetted routes include Taipei to New York and destinations in Canada. Taiwan’s Commercial Times said the full-service airline has applied to the Civil Aviation Administration of Canada to fly to the country. STARLUX also has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for five A350Fs with options for another five. Deliveries are scheduled from 2027. STARLUX is optimistic about the surge in AI and e-commerce cargo as well as the demand for air freight, it added.
