Taipei Airport records healthy interim increase in transit passengers

Passengers transferring at Taipei International Airport in first half 2024 increased 13.7% year-on-year, Taoyuan International Airport Corporation (TIAC) reports. Read More » In total, 3,936,135 passengers transitted to onward flights through the capital city airport in the reported months, 475,731 more air travellers than in interim 2023. U.S. passengers accounted for around 33% of transit passengers, the airport said. Including the 253,319 Canadians travelling onward from the airport, North American passengers numbered 1.568 million or 40% of all transitting air travellers. Additionally, TIAC processed 664,000 (17%) transit passengers from Vietnam and Thailand and 532,000 (14%) from the Philippines. Around 3.048 million transferring travellers, mainly between North America and Southeast Asia, accounted for 77.4% of total transfer passengers for the six months, TIAC said.
