AirAsia Indonesia grows Australian network with third nonstop route

AirAsia Indonesia has commenced nonstop flights to Cairns in northern Australia from Bali. Read More » The inaugural flight QZ542, operated by A320 registration PK-AZD, landed in Cairns just after 0600 local time on Thursday. After about 80 minutes on the ground, the A320 took off as the reciprocal QZ543 back to Bali. The LCC has scheduled three flights a week to Cairns. It is the second airline to offer nonstop flights between Bali and Cairns alongside Qantas Group LCC, Jetstar Airways. "We see great demand, not only for this new direct route," AirAsia Indonesia CEO, Veranita Yosephine, said. "Everyone loves Bali but at the same time we see many opportunities to promote the incredible tourism highlights in the far north of Queensland to our international guests like the Great Barrier Reef. Conversely, Indonesia and Asia in general continues to be a leisure favourite region for Australians wanting an affordable and unique experience." Bali-Cairns is AirAsia Indonesia's third Australian route alongside existing flights to Perth from Bali and Jakarta.
