India’s carriers report 7.3% increase in domestic passengers for latest month

Read More » The Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) data shows LCC IndiGo was the country’s dominant domestic carrier for the 31 days, flying eight million passengers, or 62% of the domestic market, followed by Tata’s Air India at 1.9 million passengers (14.3% market share) and Vistara at 1.3 million customers (10% market share). The DGCA’s update said SpiceJet had the highest domestic passenger load factor for the month at 90.3%, followed by Vistara (90%) and Akasa Air (86.4%). LCC AIX Connect, a 100%-owned Air India subsidiary, recorded the best on time performance, at 70.3%, out of Bangalore, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai airports.
