Air China and China Southern Airlines announce interim 2024 losses

Air China (AC) posted a first-half net loss of 2.78 billion Yuan ($392 million), the company said in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on August 29. Read More » It was a reduction in its red ink from a 3.45 billion Yuan loss in the same months last year. Revenue was 79.52 billion Yuan for the reported period and passenger yield was 53.69 Yuan. Further south, China Southern Airlines (CSA) reported an interim 2024 loss under IFRS standards of 1.23 billion Yuan. First half revenue was 84.79 billion Yuan, CSA said.
