Qatar Airways “close to a deal” for minority holding in Virgin Australia

Read More » It reports the oneworld alliance carrier is within days of signing the deal, a purchase that requires Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval. In June, Australia’s Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) on Domestic airline competition reported Qantas Airways and its LCC, Jetstar, held 63% of the country’s domestic passenger market followed by VA with 32%. Qatar Airways code-shares with VA in Australia.
