Emirate’s Maurice Flanagan dies, aged 86

Emirates’ founding father and one of the world’s leading aviation figures, Maurice Flanagan, died last week at age 86. Read More » In 1985, he led a ten-man team that launched Emirates with two leased aircraft, a $10 million grant and, according to Flanagan, “a strict warning from the emirate’s government not to come back for more”.


More changes at ATR

Following the appointment of Tom Anderson as new SVP-commercial and customer support, ATR last week named Roberto Del Pezzo as head of quality. He is former quality control manager at Alena Aermacchi. ATR also announced Palmira Rotolo as the head of communications. Rotolo has held marketing and communications positions at Alenia Aermacchi and Superjet International.
