Air India going full speed ahead with retrofit program

At a cost of US$400 million, AI is upgrading all 67 of its single aisle and twin aisles including 40 Boeing aircraft. The wide-body retrofit program is scheduled to start early next year, subject to on-time supply chain reliability. It will be coordinated by AI's engineering team in collaboration with global OEMs including Collins Aerospace, Astronics and Thales. More than 15,000 next-generation business, premium economy and economy seats will be installed in the upgraded aircraft as part of the retrofit.
