Read More » The airlines of Southeast Asia were expected to take delivery of 4,720 new commercial aircraft in the 20-year period between 2024 and 2043, according to the Boeing 2024 Commercial Market Outlook. The forecast is up 11.7% from the expected 4,224 new aircraft deliveries in the 2023-2042 CMO. “With Southeast Asia’s economy forecast to have the second-highest growth rate among global regions, rising household incomes will bring new consumers into this aviation market, fuelling growth for low cost and leisure business models,” Boeing Commercial Marketing managing director for Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania, David Schulte, said. “Southeast Asia’s growing fleet – especially single-aisle airplanes – will play an important role in further connecting the region’s island geography and serving travel demand across the Asia-Pacific region, particularly routes to China and Northeast Asia." Boeing said passenger traffic was expected to grow 7.2% per year over the 20 years to 2043, compared with the global average of 4.7% annual growth.
