Hong Kong Airport reports record post-pandemic passenger numbers for August

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) had throughput of 4.92 million passengers last month, a 23.0% year-on-year improvement, and processed a 20.6% increase in cargo volumes, at 406,000 tonnes, in the 31 days. Read More » Flight movements increased to 31,605, up 26.1% compared with August 2023. Daily passenger traffic exceeded 170,000 on peak days, AAHK said. On August 18, HKIA handled 174,600 passengers, another post-pandemic high. All passenger segments - Hong Kong residents, visitors and transfer/ transit passengers - recorded growth compared with 12 months ago. Traffic to and from Southeast Asia, China and Japan achieved the most significant monthly increases, AAHK said.
