Region’s airlines plan for 737 MAX delivery delays as industrial disruption continues at Boeing

At press time, impacted Asia-Pacific airline customers of Boeing’s 737 MAX family are factoring in late deliveries of the type as the members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers at Boeing’s Seattle campus remain on strike. Read More » Responding to Bloomberg News, Korean Air, Vietjet and Japan Airlines said either they were experiencing delivery delays because of the strike or are concerned hand over dates will slip. Other carriers in the region, including Singapore Airlines (SIA), said they are working with Boeing on delivery schedules in light of the factory shutdown. Boeing is scheduled to deliver a minimum of 981 737MAXs to airlines in Asia by 2030, Cirium data reports.
