Japan Airlines to sell beef on flights to the U.S. and Singapore

Japan Airlines (JAL) is offering passengers travelling from Tokyo Haneda and Narita airports to the U. S. and Singapore the option of purchasing Japan’s famous Wagyu beef. Read More » “JAL Wagyu Souvenir Service”, to be operated in partnership with JA Zen-Noh Meat Foods, will source Kagoshima Black cattle and Hokkaido Wagyu (A5 grade) beef for sale to JAL travellers. The flag carrier will complete export quarantine procedures for passengers purchasing the beef. Orders must be completed 48 hours before departure, collected at the Tokyo airports and be checked in as luggage. For the flights to the U.S., JAL will sell the beef in packs up to 22.6 kilograms in weight. For its Singapore rotations, the beef will be sold as steaks and slices at a maximum weight of five kilograms. Within the JAL Group, a similar service has been available on selected ZIPAIR flights since January.
