KLM boss seeks European Union support to counter “unfair” competition on Europe-China routes

KLM CEO, Marjan Rintel, has told local media the airline is asking the European Union (EU) to help rebalance Europe-China air travel. However, airlines in China and the Middle East continue to fly through Russian airspace. As a result, flight times for European carriers their routes to China now take several hours longer than their Mainland and Gulf rivals. Speaking on local television, Rintel called on the EU to consider measures to level the unfair playing field.
