Singapore Airlines group reports 7.9% lift in passengers in September

Singapore Airlines and its LCC, Scoot, flew a combined 3.1 million passengers in September, up 7.9% from their 2.9 million air travellers transported a year ago. Read More » SIA said the overall gain in the month was the result of passenger numbers increasing by 14.1%, to 2.1 million, offsetting a 3.2% decline in Scoot passengers, to one million. Capacity across the group increased 9.7% in the reported days and Revenue per Available Seat Kilometre climbed 7.7%. As capacity growth outpaced the increase in demand, passenger load factor eased 1.6 percentage points to 86.1%, SIA said. Its cargo operations recorded stronger demand in September due to the launch of new mobile products, it added.
