AirAsia outlines long-term growth strategy

AirAsia is planning to increase its fleet to 76 aircraft in 2025, up from 63 airliners at present. Read More » Also next year, the LCC will grow its schedule by 12%, to 258 flights a day. The LCC intends to add eight new destinations to its network in the coming year, increasing the routes it offers to 106, by year-end 2025 and further consolidating Kuala Lumpur as the world’s leading LCC mega hub. “This reactivation will significantly enhance the airline’s ability to meet rising travel demand across established and emerging markets in Asia, Africa and the Middle East,” AirAsia said. “By strengthening its presence across these regions, AirAsia is poised to meet growing market needs and expand connectivity for passengers and businesses.” In 2026-2027, the LCC will focus on strategic markets in Africa, East Asia and the Pacific. In the following year, it will turn its attention to building its presence in the Middle East. It added it is examining opportunities to fly to Europe and North America towards the end of the decade.
