Qantas Airways announces 2025 network expansion

Read More » From February 2025, the flag carrier will be implementing a 12-month plan that will inject 220,000 more seats into its regional and U.S. networks. The changes will include increasing capacity to the U.S. by 13%, offering 30% more premium seats on long-haul flights after its A380s return to flying from August, returning 787s from Brisbane to Los Angeles and Auckland and opening Brisbane-Palau with 737s. On March 30, domestic subsidiary, QantasLink, will introduce its 137 seat A220 from Darwin to Singapore, flying five times a week, up-gaugiing capacity on the route from the smaller E190. From mid-June, full-service Qantas will close Sydney-Seoul and the group’s LCC, Jetstar, will fly daily to the South Korean capital from Sydney to accommodate leisure demand. “This growth is good news for our people and allows us to offer more choice to our customers traveling around the Qantas network,” Qantas Group International CEO, Cam Wallace, said.
