Hong Kong International Airport reports 4.1 million passengers for September

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) recorded through put of 4.1 million air travellers last month, up 22.4% from the 3.3 million passengers it processed in September 2023. Read More » Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said all passenger segments experienced significant growth and passenger traffic maintained its steady recovery in the month. “Traffic to and from Southeast Asia and China recorded the most substantial increases during the month,” AAHK said. Passenger volume for the reported 30 days is an 83.6% recovery from the 4.9 million passengers who travelled through the airport in pre-pandemic September 2019. Cargo volumes for the month expanded by 10.1%, to 375,000 tonnes, compared with a year ago, AAHK said. Air freight performance was driven by increased exports and cargo traffic to and from Europe, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
