GE Aerospace will roll out two AI-enabled inspection tools for CFM LEAP and GE9X engines. The new process will build on the success of the AI-enabled Blade Inspection Tool (BIT) for the GEnx engine that has cut blade inspection times by 50% and improved the accuracy of inspections compared with standard borescope inspections. “We have seen inspection process times reduced from 3 hours to 1.5 hours and observed improved quality and accuracy,” GE Aerospace chief MRO engineer, Nicole Jenkins, said.
AerFin, an aviation asset specialist, has entered the Japanese market with the sale of a CFM56-7B engine from the 737NG family. The transaction was advised, arranged and structured by BeYoke Capital, a specialist in aircraft structured finance that connects fundraising entities to investors in Japan.
VMIC announced on October 23 it has successfully extended the lease and completed refinancing for a B777-300ER aircraft owned by a domestic institution and leased to Emirates Airline. VMIC, Korea’s sole aviation asset management firm, managed the entire process, marking it as the first Korean company to accomplish both a lease extension and refinancing for an aircraft.
