Indonesia AirAsia narrows quarterly loss to US$38 million

Indonesia AirAsia has reported a net loss of 599 billion rupiah (US$38 million) for the three months to September 30 compared with a net loss of 875 billion rupiah in the matching quarter in 2023. Read More » Revenue increased 19.7%, to 5.9 trillion rupiah, Indonesia AirAsia said in a regulatory filing. Costs were higher by 11.8%, at 6.3 trillion rupiah. Indonesia AirAsia CEO, Veranita Josephine, said the airline achieved a 10% increase in passengers - of just below five million in the quarter - which supported the strong revenue growth. The LCC’s immediate focus is optimizing fleet operations to accommodate demand for travel on domestic and international routes, it said.
