Korean Air books 10% increase in third quarter revenue

Read More » The positive result was underpinned by successful capacity expansion in the peak summer season and optimized cargo operations, particularly e-commerce, the airline said. Passenger revenue was better by 2% against the same months in 2023, at KRW 2.62 trillion. KAL cargo delivered KRW 1.1198 trillion in revenue, a 22% improvement compared with third quarter 2023 and a result boosted by sustained growth in ex-China e-commerce. However, net income declined 35%, to KRW 276.6 billion in the reported months from a year ago. In final quarter 2024, KAL will increase destinations to Southeast Asia to capture winter holiday demand and ensure its cargo operations are ready to adapt to changing maritime shipping conditions and possible shifts in U.S.-China relations.
