Boeing has sent layoff notices to around 400 staff as it commences the process of eliminating 17,000 employees from its pay roll, The Seattle Times reports, quoting members of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace employed by Boeing.

CAE and Qantas Group have opened their flight training centre in Sydney. The facility is equipped with five full-flight simulators, three fixed training devices and 10 classrooms. CAE operates the training centre and maintains its equipment and Qantas and Jetstar pilots train cockpit crew from both airlines.

Cathay Pacific said its 7th annual hackathon, held last weekend, featured 74 teams of university students selected from more than 1,500 applications. The winning team, GingTrip, presented an idea for a modular trolley on HK Express flights to automate recycling and waste sorting.

Embraer and aerospace company, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly evaluate partnership opportunities in commercial aviation in engineering and the supply of aero-structures.

ST Engineering reports revenue for the nine months to September 30 rose by14%, to S$8.3 billion (US$6 billion), from S$7.3 billion in the same months in 2023.

Tasman Cargo Airlines has applied to Australia's International Air Services Commission, which manages the country’s traffic rights, for unlimited cargo traffic rights between Australia and Hong Kong. The airline operates seven Australia-Hong Kong cargo flights a week.
