ITA Airways lands in Bangkok, builds Rome-Indo-Asia to four routes

Italy-headquartered ITA Airways has commenced seasonal nonstop five times a week Rome Fiumicino-Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. Read More » The inaugural AZ758 service, flown by an A330-900 registration EI-TYC, touched down in the Thai capital on November 17 local time after a 10.5 hour flight from the airline’s home hub. The aircraft, configured with 30 business, 24 premium economy and 237 economy seats, was on the ground for four hours before operating the reciprocal AZ759 to Rome. ITA will operate the five a week frequency until March 2025 when the service will drop back to three flights weekly. It will be the only airline offering nonstop Rome-Bangkok. “This route is a key milestone for us, marking our entry into the Thai market and extending our reach in Asia alongside Tokyo, New Delhi and Malè,”ITA chief commercial officer, Emiliana Limosani, said. “As our eighth new destination this year, the route underscores our dedication to creating more travel opportunities for our customers, focusing on Thailand as a key market for leisure and business travel.”
