Cathay Pacific reports passenger traffic increased 19.6% in October

For the first time this year, Cathay Pacific operated more than 10,000 passenger and cargo flight sectors in a month transporting 2,014,105 passengers in the 31 days of October. Read More » Revenue passenger kilometers (RPK) increased 19.1% year-on-year, passenger load factor decreased 1.6 percentage points to 83.1% and available seat kilometers (ASK) were 21.3% higher against the same month in 2023. In the first 10 months of this year, Cathay Pacific said passengers increased by 27.4%, to 18,567,818 and RPKs were better by 26.8% over the matching 31 days in 2023. “October was another good month for our travel business, with strong demand for leisure and business travel resulting in a solid load factor of 83% across our network. We saw considerable leisure traffic from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland to destinations in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and Europe in the National Day Golden Week holiday at the beginning of the month,” Cathay Pacific chief customer and commercial officer, Lavinia Lau, said.
