Air India orders another 100 Airbus aircraft

Read More » The latest order, announced on December 9, follows the flag carrier’s 2023 commitment to 40 A350s and 210 A320neo family aircraft. “With India’s passenger growth outpacing the rest of the world, its significantly improving infrastructure and an aspirational young population increasingly going global, we see a clear case for Air India to expand its fleet beyond the firm orders for 470 aircraft already placed,” Air India and Tata Sons chair, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, said. “These additional 100 Airbus aircraft will help position Air India for greater growth and contribute to our mission of building Air India into a world-class airline that connects India to every corner of the world.” Airbus CEO, Guillaume Faury, said: “Having personally witnessed the formidable growth of Indian aviation in recent months, I am glad to see Air India renew its trust in Airbus with this additional order for our A320 Family and A350 aircraft.” The Star Alliance member also has ordered 220 Boeing jets with 185 of them yet to be delivered to the carrier.
