Cathay Group close to completion of two-year “rebuilding journey”

In a December 12 statement, Cathay Group said its two carriers, Cathay Pacific and HK Express, will reach 100% of their pre-pandemic flight schedules in January and be flying to 100 destinations within the next 12 months. Read More » It has added 7,000 employees to its payroll, increasing its headcount to more than 30,000 cabin crew, pilots, airport, engineering, digital, IT and office teams and subsidiaries, it said.

Together, Cathay Pacific and HK Express have recruited 5,000 cabin crew and more than 3,400 pilots to operate their expanding networks, the group said. “Encouragingly, the resignation rate for pilots has remained at historically low levels and is running at under 3% year to date. Six hundred pilots have completed their Command or First Officer Upgrade training in the last 18 months, the company statement added.
