Air New Zealand (Air NZ) is planning to conduct test flights of a battery-electric aircraft, the ALIA CX300 aircraft manufactured in U.S.-based BETA Technologies, out of Hamilton starting in April next year. "From there, the Air New Zealand and BETA teams will gradually expand flights to surrounding airports before making the journey to Wellington, where it will complete flights designed to replicate the cargo operation planned in 2026 with New Zealand Post," Air NZ said.
Capital A said its AirAsia MOVE online travel agency has signed a partnership agreement with Mainland China-based Tongcheng Travel to jointly collaborate on developing a cutting-edge B2B platform, innovative duty-free shopping solutions and integrated rewards programs, among other projects.
Airbus said its EcoPlus hybrid-electric demonstrator aircraft concluded its flight test program with 100 flight hours and 50 test flights between November 2023 and July this year. EcoPlus is a collaboration between Airbus, Daher and Safran.
Australia's International Air Services Commission, which manages the country’s traffic rights, has approved Tasman Cargo Airlines' application for unlimited cargo traffic rights between Australia and Hong Kong. The airline's current schedule comprised seven Australia-Hong Kong cargo flights a week.
Boeing will invest US$1 billion to expand its commercial aircraft facility at North Charleston in South Carolina to support increased production of its 787 program.
China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings (CALC) has agreed to purchase two A320s from Aircraft Recycling International Holdings (ARI), with the transaction to be completed by the end of the year. CALC is a shareholder of ARI.
