China Airlines divides wide-body order between Airbus and Boeing

Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) has announced orders for 10 A350-1000s, 10 777-9s and four 777-8Fs. Read More » Deliveries are scheduled to start in 2029. The passenger aircraft will serve Taiwan to North America and Europe. The A350s will be powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97s and the 777-9s by General Electric GE9Xs. The new members of the CAL fleet will have a three class layout fitted with more business class seats than the flag carrier’s current wide-bodies. The 777-8Fs will have the same cargo hold specifications as its operating 777Fs, but will offer more flexible operating and dispatch options to customers.
