China’s airlines to fly record numbers of passengers in 2024

Average daily passenger volumes exceeded two million, an 18.1% year-on-year increase and were 10.7% more than pre-pandemic 2019. Domestic passengers flown increased by 14% or 640 million travellers compared with full-year five years ago. International passengers carried exceeded 60 million, reaching 88% of the pre-epidemic numbers and reporting a 130% jump in customers flown year-on-year.
