Australia’s major airports preparing for busiest summer since 2019

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth Airports are gearing up for this year’s holiday season – from this week to January 27, 2025 – with a forecast it will be their busiest six weeks since the matching days in 2019 when 15.9 million passengers were processed through the four airports. Melbourne Airport estimates it will process 1.8 million international travelers from this week to January 27, marking an all-time record for Victoria’s capital city. In Queensland, three million air travellers are expected to be processed through Brisbane airport.
