Australia’s major airports preparing for busiest summer since 2019

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth Airports are gearing up for this year’s holiday season – from this week to January 27, 2025 – with a forecast it will be their busiest six weeks since the matching days in 2019 when 15.9 million passengers were processed through the four airports. Read More » Throughput of 5.8 million people is forecast for Sydney Airport, which is near 500,000 more travellers than a year ago. Melbourne Airport estimates it will process 1.8 million international travelers from this week to January 27, marking an all-time record for Victoria’s capital city. In Queensland, three million air travellers are expected to be processed through Brisbane airport.
