January 14th 2025

Read More » It was a strong month for revenue passenger kilometre (RPK) growth, IATA director general, Willie Walsh, said, but pointed out capacity expanded by a comparatively slower 5.7% in the month, another reminder of the supply chain issues preventing airlines from acquiring aircraft to accommodate traffic demand. Passenger load factor was 1.9 percentage points higher at 83.4%, IATA added. "Airlines are missing out on opportunities to better serve customers, modernize their products and improve their environmental performance because aircraft are not being delivered on time," Walsh said. "The New Year’s resolution for the aerospace manufacturing sector in 2025 must be finding a fast and durable solution for their supply chain issues."
In the reported month, the Asia-Pacific recorded a 14% increase in RPK growth, capacity grew 9% and passenger load factor was better by 3.7% at 84.9%.
