Global air cargo delivers robust performance for 16th consecutive month

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) said global air cargo remained strong in November with cargo tonne kilometres (CTK) up 8.2% compared with a year ago. Read More » Capacity, or available cargo tonne kilometres (ACTK), was higher by 4.6%, the airline lobby group said. "It was a good November for air cargo," IATA director general, Willie Walsh, said. "All things considered we are looking to close out 2024 air cargo performance on a profitable note. While this strong performance is very likely to extend into 2025, there are downside risks to be carefully watched. These include inflation, geopolitical uncertainties and trade tensions."
Asia-Pacific airlines recorded 13.2% CTK growth in the reported month, the strongest pace of CTK expansion among the six regions covered by the air freight update.
