Air China forecasts narrowed losses in calendar 2024

Air China will book net losses in the range of 160 million yuan to 240 million yuan (US$22 million to US$33 million) for the year to December 31 as a result of strong domestic competition and uncertainty in international markets. Read More » The forecast compares with the flag carrier’s 1 billion yuan net loss in calendar 2023. “In 2024, the recovery of the civil aviation market gained momentum," Air China said in a regulatory filing. "However, amid an increasingly complex and volatile operating environment, intensified competition in the domestic market, heightened uncertainties in the international market and price fluctuations in oil and exchange rates, the company remained in an operating loss position in 2024.”
