South Korea investigators release Jeju Air crash report

Read More » The South Korea Aviation and Railway Accident Investigation Board (ARAIB) said the pilots of flight 7C2216 flying from Bangkok to Muan and operated by 737-800 registration HL8088 had identified a flock of birds on approach to Muan Airport's Runway 01 with security camera footage showing the aircraft coming close to a group of birds during a go-around. "Both engines were examined and feathers and bird blood stains were found on each," the ARAIB preliminary report said. "The samples were sent to specialized organizations for DNA analysis and a domestic organisation identified them as belonging to Baikal Teals," it said. The aircraft crashed into an embankment after it landed killing 179 passengers and crew. Two people survived the accident.
