Embraer reports its aircraft backlog hit US$26.3 billion in final quarter 2024, a record for the Brazilian aerospace OEM. Numbers were more than 40% higher year-on-year and also increased 16% quarter-on-quarter. Embraer delivered 75 aircraft in the reported months, better by 27% compared with 59 aircraft deliveries in the previous quarter and equal to the matching quarter in 2023. Customers accepted 206 Embraer aircraft last year, a 14% increase over 181 aircraft in 2023.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has published the IATA SAF accounting and reporting methodology ahead of the launch of the IATA SAF Registry in April. “This is an essential component of the soon-to-be-launched IATA SAF Registry which will enable airlines to claim SAF benefits against their regulatory and voluntary obligations, irrespective of where the SAF was uplifted,” IATA senior vice president sustainability and chief economist, Marie Owens Thomsen, said.
SATS HK is partnering with DHL ACS (Air Capacity Sales) to deliver handling solutions for DHL Aviation EEMEA and Kalitta Air.
Thai SmartLynx Airlines has accepted its first aircraft, A320-200 2-VSLP. Parent company, Avia Solutions Group, said the delivery is a significant step in the process of the Thai carrier being awarded an Air Operator Certificate.
