Australia’s domestic passenger traffic improved by1% in November

Airlines operating in Australia carried 5.1 million passengers on scheduled domestic flights in November last year compared with five million in-country passengers flown in the same month in 2023. Capacity declined 2.5% year-on-year for the month and passenger load factor was higher by 1.8 percentage points at 87%, Australia’s Bureau of Infrastructure and Transport Research Economics (BITRE) said. Australia’s busiest domestic route - Melbourne-Sydney - grew 1.1%, to 704,500 passengers, in the reported 30 days.
