Singapore-headquartered MRO provider, SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC), has announced its net profit increased 42%, to S$38.2 million (US$28 million), in the three months to December 31 compared with an S$26.9 million profit in the same month in 2023. Revenue improved 11.3% to S$324.8 million, SIAEC said. “While MRO demand has stayed healthy, the MRO industry continues to navigate supply chain challenges, rising costs and a tight labour market,” it said.
The company also announced it had incorporated its joint venture in partnership with Cambodia Airport Investment Co. in the line maintenance provider Phnom Penh’s TIA Engineering Services Company Limited.
Catering and airport services provider, dnata, is building a catering facility at the Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport’s airside cargo precinct that will have the capacity to deliver three million meals a year. Construction is scheduled for completion late next year.
Hong Kong-headquartered HAECO has signed a long-term agreement with Emirates Airline to provide landing gear repair and overhaul services for the Dubai carrier’s 777s. In other HAECO news, the MRO provider has installed more solar panels at its base maintenance facility in Hong Kong increasing the number of panels to more than 8,000 and generating more than 4 million kWh of electricity annually.
Avia Solutions Group’s Australia-based Skytrans has added an A319 to its fleet. Recently, the company opened a Global Services Philippines base in Manila to support the group’s technical and flight operations.
