China Eastern Airlines records double-digit passenger increase

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) flew 12.7 million passengers last month, 12.4% more than the 11.3 million air travellers it carried in January 2024. Read More » CEA’s January international passenger numbers improved 56.6% to 1.8 million, its domestic network reported an increase of 7.3%, to 10.6 million passengers and regional travellers were higher by 11.8% at 327,610. Capacity at the Shanghai-headquartered airline was 11.9% better year-on-year. The airline expanded international capacity 39.2% in the month and domestic capacity by 2.3%, but regional capacity was contracted by 2.1% for the 31 days. Passenger load factor was 5.4 percentage points higher at 82.9%.
