Air China posts 8.5% passenger growth for January

Air China transported 13.1 million passengers on its domestic, international and regional networks last month, up 8.5% from the 12.1 million air travellers the airline carried in the same month a year ago. Read More » Domestic passengers increased 4.2%, to 11.1 million, international air travellers jumped 48.3%, to 1.6 million, and regional passengers were 15.2% higher at 412,900. Overall capacity, or available seat kilometres (ASK), expanded 10% compared with 12 months ago. Capacity on international routes was 31.5% higher year-on-year, Air China said, while domestic and regional ASK growth was 2.4% and 9.7%, respectively, for the month. The Star Alliance member’s passenger load factor was up 1.5 percentage points to 79.1%.
